Osteoporosis is a health condition that weakens bones, making them fragile and more likely to fracture. It develops slowly over several years and affects both men and woman.
A well designed exercise program can help to offset the losses in bone density that occur. When a bone is loaded with more force than it is used to, bone building cells (osteoblasts) lay down new bone to strengthen it. The best exercises to improve bone density are strength and impact exercises combined with balance retraining to help prevent falls.
Our classes are designed to be attended twice per week. They are set up in circuit style format involving rotating through 8 different exercise stations.
Each station involves a combination of impact, strength and balance exercises tailored to an appropriate intensity.
Our classes are evidence based and formulated to improve your bone mineral density, strength and balance.
An initial assessment is important to establish your baseline physical measure and to assist us in setting your class training intensity.
During the assessment we will thoroughly review your prior osteoporosis and exercise history. It is also a great time to ask us any questions you may have about the program.

We will issue you a tax invoice after each class for you to claim with your private health insurance.

Additionally, some insurers offer health management program rebates (such as for gym memberships and class). We can fill-in the required paperwork to help claim this for you.
The classes are offered indefinitely to ensure the ongoing management of your bone health.
